  Ms. Paat started out as an EMT going to medical school; then a change in her life helped her decide to become a Special Education Teacher. In 2010 Ms. Paat founded Central Valley Medical to provide quality medical education to nurses, doctors, teachers, and any in need of CPR/First Aid Training

  Kevin Stansbury

  Clinical Manager

  Is an RN living and working in the Central Valley of California. Kevin spent 13 years in the US Army as a combat medic and nurse. 9 years Active duty 4 years National Guard. He has been decorated by the Army with an Army Achievement Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. I served three tours during the Gulf War. Kevin also works as an Emergency Room RN at St. Agnes Medical Center. He has also authored courses for Pedagogy-inc.com in Infusion Therapy and EKG's. He is deeply involved in Infusion Therapy and Vascular Access; where he is a reviewer for the Journal of Infusion Nursing, Journal of Emergency Nursing, and the Journal of Vascular Access.

  Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

  IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal

  This course will provide participants with training in the techniques required to start an IV infusion as well as withdrawal of blood for testing. The course provides information on Universal Precautions, Anatomy and Physiology of the vasculature of the upper extremity, response to anaphylactic reactions, puncture techniques, fluid and electrolyte balance and management and care of the site (both pre and post insertion). In addition, participants will learn the techniques for blood withdrawal including selection of equipment, site selection and preparation, order of draw, and after-withdrawal care Course participants will attend laboratory practice to perform three (3) successful blood withdrawals and three (3) successful IV starts. Certificates will not be issued to students who fail to successfully complete all laboratory practices.
